Join Suraras do Tapajós, the first Indigenous women’s Carimbó group from the Brazilian Amazon, for an immersive cultural experience that goes far beyond the music.
Through live demonstrations, storytelling, rhythm, movement, and audience participation, this interactive workshop explores the rich traditions of Carimbó and the cultural heritage of the Amazon. Participants will discover traditional instruments, percussion patterns, dance, song, and the ancestral knowledge that connects music, territory, identity, and community.
The workshop also invites reflection on environmental stewardship, cultural preservation, and the importance of Indigenous knowledge in today's world, creating meaningful dialogue between traditional wisdom and contemporary audiences.
PLEASE NOTE: This workshop will be in Portuguese with some minimal translation

Venha viver uma experiência única com as Suraras do Tapajós, o primeiro grupo feminino indígena de Carimbó da Amazônia brasileira.
Por meio de demonstrações ao vivo, histórias, ritmos, dança e participação do público, esta oficina interativa apresenta as tradições do Carimbó e a riqueza cultural da Amazônia. Os participantes conhecerão instrumentos tradicionais, levadas rítmicas, dança, canto e os saberes ancestrais que conectam música, território, identidade e comunidade.
A atividade também promove reflexões sobre preservação ambiental, valorização da cultura e a importância dos conhecimentos indígenas na sociedade contemporânea, fortalecendo o diálogo entre os saberes tradicionais e os espaços educativos e culturais de hoje.
OBS: Este workshop será apresentado em português, com tradução mínima.
