Supporting Black Student Success: Creating Pathways through Mentorship, Opportunity and Guidance🖤
📅 Wednesday, Oct. 14
⏰ 4 to 6 p.m.
📍 Ronald D. Schmeichel Building for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Rooms 4105 and 4106
Join the Western Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion for a faculty panel discussion exploring ways to support Black student success through mentorship, opportunity and intentional guidance.
Inspired by findings from the inaugural Tri-Council funded Robbins-Ollivier project on Enhancing the Black Experience at Western, faculty colleagues will share approaches from across campus, including cultivating mentoring relationships, connecting students with research and discipline-specific opportunities, building networks and providing guidance throughout their academic journeys.
Join us for an evening of conversation, reflection and shared learning as we consider practical ways to create environments where Black students can connect, participate, develop and thrive.
Complimentary parking is available. If you need a parking pass, please reach out to [email protected] for details.
We look forward to seeing you there! Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or require accommodations for this event.
