Jody Wisternoff doesn’t just play electronic music - he shapes its future. As co-curator of Anjunadeep’s chart-topping compilation series and a relentless global performer hitting 30+ cities annually, he operates at the intersection of underground credibility and mainstream success, with nearly one million monthly Spotify listeners proving his cross-generational reach.
His influence runs deeper than streaming numbers suggest. Since 2013, Jody has co-helmed Anjunadeep’s artistic direction alongside James Grant, discovering and developing the label’s next generation while maintaining his own prolific output - three solo albums garnering 70+ million streams and his latest, “Welcome To My World,” showcasing an artist at peak creative powers. This dual role as performer and tastemaker places him in rare company among electronic music’s elite.
The Way Out West story continues to evolve after five albums and a UK Top 12 hit with “The Gift,” but it’s Jody’s solo trajectory that defines his current chapter. From headlining Anjunadeep showcases across four continents to launching CABALO with WEBB - a breakbeat-driven project that reimagines his ’90s rave roots through contemporary production - he treats three decades of experience as fuel for innovation rather than nostalgia.
Bristol’s underground shaped him, with teenage appearances in The Face magazine, sets at legendary Universe raves, early collaborations with future Massive Attack members - but it’s his ability to translate that foundation into forward-thinking electronic music that keeps dancefloors moving from Los Angeles to London, Tokyo to Bangalore. His sets blend emotional depth with kinetic energy, reading rooms with the intuition only decades of performance can provide.
Now embracing sobriety and creative clarity, Jody Wisternoff stands as proof that electronic music’s most exciting chapters often come from its most experienced voices.
