About this Event
Join Foto Dono beneath the Venice Fishing Pier for an evening of sunset photography! We’ll use the pier’s repeating pylons to frame the setting sun, creating a striking combination of light, symmetry, and reflections.
This sunset alignment happens twice a year—around Halloween in October and Valentine’s Day in February. The October opportunity runs approximately October 28–30, and we’ll gather on October 30 to catch it together.

Bring your camera, a charged battery, and an empty memory card. A tripod is helpful as the light fades. Come ready to explore different compositions—and dress for sand and the shoreline!
Plan to arrive before golden hour, so you have time to find your angle and get set up.
Weather permitting. Clouds and weather conditions will determine sunset visibility. Please check for event updates before heading out.
Want to try some long glass? A telephoto lens lets you frame the setting sun larger between the pier’s pylons when shooting from farther back. A 70–200mm or 100–400mm is a great option to explore. Ask Gulf Coast Camera about lens rental availability before the field trip—and bring a sturdy tripod!
