Begin the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in reflection and community at a Sunrise Ceremony led by Elder Mike Hopkins.📅: Wednesday, September 30
🕘: 6:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
📍: Wampum Learning Lodge
This gathering holds space for Survivors and intergenerational Survivors of residential schools, honours the children who never returned home, and recognizes the ongoing work of healing and Truth and Reconciliation.
The Sacred Fire is open to everyone. This is a space for Western and local community to come together in remembrance, reflection, and communal gathering.
Event Details:

🧡 Wear orange to show your support
🧡 Breakfast and refreshments served following the ceremony
🧡 Sacred fire will remain lit until 2 p.m.
🧡 Visitors are welcome throughout the day to pay respects and offer prayers
🧡 Long skirts admired, but not required
