Sunday Schedule
We would prefer that you arrive at 10 AM or 2pm so we can orient folks at the same time. However, we also can ALWAYS use your help! We understand if you need to come late or leave early - showing up is the most important part and there's alwayas something to do!
Here's what a normal Sunday Volunteer Day usually looks like:
10:00am - 1:00pm | Volunteering (Various Hands- On Activities)
1:00pm - 2:00pm | BYO Lunch and Hang!
2:00pm - 5:00pm | Volunteering (continue work from morning or come work on guild projects!)
Sundays are also campus open hours which means that you can simply stop by and hang out for as long or as short as you'd like! Come feed the sheep, eat lunch in the shade, visit worm world, water some plants, or explore with family and friends!
One thing we ask prior to visiting is filling out our WAIVER.
What to Expect:
We always need help to steward our campus! Everyone, young or old, experienced or still learning, is welcome to join our Sunday volunteer workdays. Each Sunday we work on different projects. Possibilities include: watering, planting, compost building, animal maintenance, light construction or fabrication, and heavy construction. Come get your hands dirty and learn new skills! If you are in a REAP guild, this is also a great time to come work on your own projects!
SEPTEMBER SUNDAYS:
Some projects we are working on right now are:
- Building our south campus gates
- Improving our compost piles
- Improving our north campus bioswale
- Planting on south campus
Things that we always need your help with:
- Watering plants!
- Taking care of the sheep and chickens
- General campus care and clean up
- Turning our compost
What to bring:
- Closed-toe shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty
- A water bottle!
- Sun protection
- Your lunch to enjoy after the work session
- A great attitude!
All ages are welcome! Children should be accompanied by an adult.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
We always need compost takers! We have existing compost that needs a new home to make room for the new process. Fair warning: this isn’t the rich, chocolatey-good compost we’re working toward—it’s part of why we’re improving our system! If you have a place where you can put it to use, come prepared to take some home with bins or a truck.
Before arriving, please read through our volunteer page and FAQ, and sign our online waiver. All volunteering participants of all ages are required to sign the waiver before coming to campus.
Can’t make a volunteer session? You’re also always welcome to just drop by and say hello during any of our open hours, Sunday 10-5 and Wednesday 2-8.
Group Volunteering:
Volunteer shifts are intended to offer learning opportunities to individuals, families, and small groups of friends - not serve as private group outings. If you are interested in registering a group of 12 or more, please check out our website to see our offerings, and fill out our Group Inquiry form.
