About this Event
Sunday Sun Salutations and Meditation
Begin your Sunday with a morning meditation followed by 50 rounds of Surya Namaskar A, the traditional Sun Salutation. Rooted in honoring the sun as a source of light, life, and vitality, this rhythmic practice paired with intentional music brings breath, movement, focus, and intention together. Repetition becomes a moving meditation, creating space to settle the mind, awaken the body, and begin the week with clarity and presence.
We'll slowly go through the Sun Salutation with lots of cues, then you'll complete the remainder of rounds as your own moving meditation, and rest in child's pose afterward. No group pressure in this class - as everyone will be moving at their own pace, and you can complete your 50, possibly more, or even fewer rounds if you feel child's pose is calling your name. It's an experiment in curiosity, and you might be surprised how many you actually complete!
Bring a joyful and curious mindset to this playful class, which fosters devotion to the practice of Yoga found only when you are deep in thought, absent from the teacher's voice, immersed in music, and aware of your breath. Rooted in honoring the sun as a source of light, life, and vitality, this rhythmic practice paired with gentle music brings breath, movement, focus, and intention together. Repetition becomes a moving meditation, creating space to settle the mind, awaken the body, and begin the week with clarity and presence.
