At this time of year, the veil between worlds is thinnest, and our beloved dead are easier for us to connect with. Many Pagans of various faiths call this time Samhain. Christians call it All Souls' Day.This Sunday, we will remember and honour our beloved dead.
Attending in person? We will have an altar table set up and encourage you to bring a photo of someone who has passed away in the past year to place there. and to write the names of your beloved dead on the paper leaves available.
Attending online? We encourage you to build your own altar (suggestions include rowan berries, late-autumn flowers, mementos mori, and candles) and place photos of the written names of your beloved dead there; perhaps beside your own flaming chalice, or in another place of your choosing.
Service starts at 10:30am
In Person (30 Cleary)
Online: https://www.youtube.com/c/OttawaFirstU
Attending in person? Stay after the service for social connection during Hospitality Hour.
Due to the Fall Congregational Meeting happening after the service, there will be no After-Service Conversation this Sunday.
