We’re at that terrifying point of the term when children will start bringing home their first batches of homework. Fresh, shiny books are pulled out of the bags, and parents sit with their children, seeking to support their child’s excitement. Within a few minutes, the initial enthusiasm is replaced with a slow, dawning fear as parents start to realise that they can no longer remember how to do long division or what the present perfect tense even is… The new methods are alien. The task is baffling and incomprehensible. M.R. Tutoring is now offering ‘Homework Hour’!
On a Sunday each week between 11:00 and 12:00, Rose and I are launching a homework support group to help with any homework from Year 2 up to Year 11 in English and Maths.
Rose – English specialist, 6 years of secondary teaching experience.
Mike – Maths KS2 and KS3 specialist, 13 years of primary teaching experience and alternative provision tutor.
