Michael Watson will reflect on Germany's efforts to come to terms with the horrors of the Nazi era.The presentation will cover two aspects of this reconciliation; firstly, the efforts made by the post-WW2 'new Germany', to deal with the Nazi persecution of Jews, Communists, Roma homosexuals, political opponents and other 'troublemakers'.
Secondly, he will explain his own path to reconciliation, from being born in wartime England, to his gradual understanding of the persecution that his German Jewish mother and her family had been subjected to by the Nazi regime.
