Step into one of photography's oldest and most magical processes. In this hands-on, three-hour workshop, you'll create your own one-of-a-kind cyanotype prints — the same sun-powered technique invented in 1842 and famously used by botanist Anna Atkins to create the first photographically illustrated book.
You'll learn to:
- Coat and prepare your own watercolor paper with light-sensitive solution
- Compose stunning prints using natural materials — leaves, ferns, flowers,
lace, and feathers
- Work with digital negatives, using ready-made transparencies to create striking
sun-exposed images
- Expose, wash, and finish your prints, watching them transform from pale green-
blue to deep Prussian blue right before your eyes.
No experience necessary — just curiosity and a willingness to get a little inky. All
materials are provided, and you'll leave with a set of original prints ready to frame or gift.
