Maybe you’re looking to wholesale real estate. Maybe you’re interested in RV parks and want to start by bird dogging, finding opportunities for someone who’s already buying. Or you’re trying to get in somebody’s orbit and figure out how you can be useful.
Maybe you’ve been learning for a while and you’re thinking, “Okay, how do I actually get started?”

We’re getting together at Craft Food Halls in Waltham to talk about what makes these businesses work. How people find deals, who they work with, what happens after they buy, and the mistakes they’ve made along the way.
If you’re brand new, bring your questions. You don’t need a deal to talk about. Tell people what you’re interested in and what you’re trying to figure out.
If you’ve been doing this a while, share some of that experience, including the stuff you’d do differently. That’s useful to somebody who’s just getting started.
Some of the questions worth bringing:
- Where do I start when there are so many directions I could go?
- How do I know if the numbers make sense?
- How do I find people I can work with, and what can I bring to a team?
- What happens after we buy it?
- What did you get wrong, and what would you do differently?
We want to hear about the mistakes, too. A deal that fell apart. Expectations that weren’t clear. Something you spent money on before you understood it. Those conversations can save someone else a lot of trouble.
Business involves trying things, getting some of them wrong, and learning as you go. It helps to know people you can talk to when you get stuck.
Creative finance will have a place in the conversation, along with finding opportunities, working with partners, and running the business after the deal closes.
