It’s been a little while since I’ve had a solo show, so come on out and check out my ST!TCHD collection. …
ST!TCHD gives me a space to step away from the clean lines and structure that define much of my work and simply explore. It is a place to experiment, trust my instincts, and embrace the unexpected.
I start with a large canvas and build it up through layers of paint, marks, color, and whatever else feels right in the moment. I don’t begin with a fixed outcome. Instead, I let the work develop, respond to what emerges, and eventually cut, rearrange, and reconstruct the canvas into something new.
The stitching became another way for me to draw, connecting the loose, unpredictable marks back to the geometric language found throughout my work. ST!TCHD is about finding and constructing a balance between control and spontaneity, and being open to where the process takes me.
