Strong Support, Better Outcomes
Helping Behavior Consultants Work Creatively, Collaboratively, and Sustainably
Behavior consultants and specialists are regularly called upon to solve complex problems, guide teams, support overwhelmed caregivers, and respond when crises do not follow a convenient timeline. Strong Support, Better Outcomes is a 3/4-day CEU workshop designed to strengthen the professionals doing this demanding and essential work.
Through four focused sessions, participants will explore practical approaches to preventing compassion fatigue, developing creative and person-centered proactive strategies, collaborating effectively across provider teams, and helping overwhelmed caregivers implement Behavior Support Plans more consistently.

Caring Without Running on Empty: Preventing Compassion Fatigue in Crisis-Driven Work
Recognize the signs of compassion fatigue, establish sustainable professional boundaries, and use practical strategies to protect your well-being while remaining effective and responsive.
Prevention with Purpose: Creative and Person-Centered Behavior Strategies
Explore creative ways to prevent challenging behavior by adapting environments, strengthening supports, teaching meaningful skills, and building upon each individual’s strengths and preferences.
One Individual, One Team: Building Effective Partnerships Across Providers
Strengthen communication and collaboration among providers, caregivers, guardians, case managers, and other team members while keeping the individual’s needs at the center.
When Caregivers Are Overwhelmed: Supporting Consistent BSP Implementation
Learn how to approach caregivers without judgment, identify barriers to follow-through, and build practical partnerships that support greater confidence and consistency.
Participants will leave with useful strategies they can apply to their work with individuals, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams—as well as tools for sustaining themselves in the process.
This workshop is intended for behavior consultants, behavior specialists, and other professionals involved in developing or implementing behavioral supports. Continuing education units will be available.
