Stripmall Ballads 'Dad Lounge debut!STRIPMALL BALLADS
https://www.stripmallballads.com
Stripmall Ballads is Maryland songwriter Phillips Saylor Wisor, alone on stage with a guitar and a banjo, singing story-songs about old brick buildings, vacant lots, and long drives through nowhere towns. His music sets Appalachian tradition against modern disillusionment, with a weary, cracked voice and a dry wit that keeps the sadness honest. Folk and Tumble (Ireland) called it "21st century Dustbowl Americana." He's at his best in listening rooms and intimate venues, where his heartfelt stories between songs draw people in. He has played every U.S. state in the lower 48 and every Canadian province, and has shared bills with John R. Miller, Willy Tea Taylor, Danny Barnes, Les Claypool, and The Be Good Tanyas. His album Distant won the 2021 Wammie Award for Best Folk Album, and his latest, Everybody Wins, was released February 10, 2026.
