If you hike, run, or ride at Stringer’s Ridge, you’ve probably noticed plenty of downed branches and dead trees sitting right off the path lately.Beyond blocking the trails, all that dry timber turns into serious fuel for brush fires once dry spells hit. On Saturday, November 14th, the crews from Chattanooga Parks and Outdoors and Red Bank Parks & Rec are teaming up to move as much of that deadfall as possible—both to open up the trails and to cut down on wildfire risk right in our backyard.
We could really use some extra hands to get it done! It’s definitely real work moving logs and brush, but we’ll provide all the tools, and lunch is on us for everyone who helps out!
