This fall, retreat to the Ozarks for two days of spirited old-time stringband music and dance, handcrafted arts, and old-fashioned fun on October 9 & 10, 2026 at the Ozark Folk Center State Park in scenic Mountain View, Arkansas.Stringband Music & Arts Festival includes live music shows at the Folk Center's acclaimed indoor music venue, Ozark Highlands Theater, on Friday and Saturday evening, plus a Saturday matinee set in the Craft Village featuring emerging folksinger and old-time banjo player Murphy Campbell.
Festival tickets include admission the Ozark Folk Center Craft Village & Gardens from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily for live mountain music sets, old-fashioned fun, and craft demonstrations at the park's 20 artisan shops.
Performers include: Murphy Campbell, John Depew Trio, Riggsville Ramblers, the Ozark Folk Center Square Dancers and More.

About the Performers:
John Depew is a Kansas-based musician, award-winning songwriter, and traveler with a knack for combining traditional sounds with thoughtful lyrics and intriguing musicality. Combining philosophy, farming, adventure, and family, John’s songs tackle subjects that are often left behind by the mainstream. He has been described as “a kind of midwestern Nick Drake” (Ted Gioia, musicologist) and jokingly refers to his own music as “progressive old-time.”
Murphy Campbell is a old time banjo player and singer with deep roots in Appalachia. Western North Carolina is a place her family settled hundreds of years ago. Coming from a long line of mountain folks and ballad tradition – she seeks to draw up the remnants of a lost, modal sound. Her new project, Revenant, consists of over a dozen ballads from her family line and the community they lived within. Preservation meets the present in her efforts to carry on her ancestors’ songs.
Salem Plateau is an old-time traditional Ozark string band centered around the husband-and-wife duo of multi-instrumentalists Joseph McCarthy and five-time Arkansas Country Music Awards winner Grace (Stormont) McCarthy.
Riggsville Ramblers are an old time stringband from Stone County, Arkansas. The inspiration for their name comes from the township of Riggsville which was formed near modern-day Mountain View in 1819. The stringband is made up of some of Mountain View's finest veteran performers on banjo, fiddle, and guitar.

The Skillet Restaurant at the Ozark Folk Center offers classic Southern fare and a scenic dining room near the Craft Village shops and gardens. The Cabins at Dry Creek offer modern duplex rooms to meet a variety of needs including pet-friendly rooms, suites, and family-style rooms. The pool at the cabins office is open between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Parking at the Ozark Folk Center:
Please, park in the lower lot at the Ozark Folk Center State Park. A shuttle will transport you up the hill to the Ozark Highlands Theater. If you wish to walk, look for the steps that lead from the lower parking lot to the theater on top of the hill. For your safety, do not walk on the road that leads to the theater!
