STRESS RESCUE
A 5-Part Lunch Seminar Series
Stress isn't just something you feel. It's something your whole system experiences—and understanding how it works gives you more power to change your relationship with it.
We often talk about stress as though the solution is simply to have less of it.
Take a vacation. Get more sleep. Meditate. Exercise. Slow down.
Those things can help—but what if the real key to managing stress begins with understanding what stress actually is, where it comes from, and what is happening inside you when you experience it?
Welcome to Stress Rescue, a five-part lunch seminar series with Dr. Jane Bradbury exploring the science, biology, psychology, and spirituality of stress—and practical tools you can use to work with it differently.
UNDERSTAND YOUR STRESS. CHANGE YOUR RESPONSE.
Your stress response isn't your enemy.
It is an ancient biological system designed to keep you alive. But modern life can activate that system in ways our bodies were never designed to sustain—and not all of the stress affecting us comes from the places we typically think to look.
Throughout this series, we'll move beyond generic advice like “just relax” and explore stress through the lens of the whole person: mind, body, and spirit.
You'll learn to recognize different sources and expressions of stress, understand what's happening within your system, and experiment with practical tools for changing how you experience and respond to it.
Because self-stewardship isn't about eliminating every stressor from your life.
It's about understanding yourself well enough to work consciously with the system you have.
THE 5-PART SERIES
Week 1: What is Stress?
Start with the system.
What is stress actually doing inside your body—and why do we have a stress response in the first place?
We'll explore the biology and purpose of stress, what happens when the system is activated, and why understanding the difference between a useful response and chronic activation changes the way we approach stress management.
You'll leave with a new framework for understanding your own stress—and practical tools for beginning to work with it.
Week 2: The Physical & Emotional Side of Stress
When the body carries the load.
Stress doesn't live only in your thoughts. Your nervous system, hormones, physical body, and emotional experience are constantly communicating with one another.
We'll explore how physical and emotional stress interact, how stress can show up in the body, and practical ways to support regulation and recovery.
Learn to recognize what your body may be communicating—and develop tools for responding before overwhelm becomes your baseline.
Week 3: The Mental & Spiritual Side of Stress
Not every source of stress is physical.
Our thoughts, beliefs, perceptions, internal narratives, and relationship with ourselves can all influence the way we experience stress.
And sometimes stress points toward something deeper: disconnection from ourselves, our values, or our spiritual well-being.
We'll explore the mental and spiritual dimensions of stress and tools for cultivating greater awareness, clarity, and internal alignment.
Week 4: Entropic Stress
The stress you may not know you're carrying.
Some stress is obvious. Other stress accumulates quietly through our environments, habits, relationships, unfinished business, disorder, energetic inputs, and the countless small demands competing for our attention.
This is entropic stress: the cumulative burden created when disorder and unmanaged inputs continually require energy from your system.
We'll learn how to identify hidden sources of stress and explore practical ways to reduce unnecessary energetic drain—creating more space for the things that actually matter.
Week 5: Pursuing Purpose
What if stress isn't always telling you to do less?
Sometimes the answer isn't another relaxation technique.
Sometimes stress emerges from the distance between the life we're living and the life we're called to create.
In our final seminar, we'll explore the relationship between purpose, fulfillment, resilience, and stress—and why meaningful challenge can feel profoundly different from chronic depletion.
We'll turn our attention from simply managing stress toward building a life with greater intention, meaning, and alignment.
Because the ultimate goal isn't merely to become better at tolerating your life. It's to become a conscious steward of one worth living.
