A strong strategic plan begins with a well-designed process.
This virtual webinar will help nonprofit leaders think intentionally about who should guide the planning process, whose perspectives should shape it, how decisions will be made, and what level of participation the organization can meaningfully support. Fio Partners will share a practical framework for designing a planning process that supports shared learning, meaningful engagement, and clear decision-making without becoming more complicated than the organization needs.
Participants will consider the roles of staff, board members, planning committees, community stakeholders, and outside consultants—as well as the time, trust, relationships, and resources required.
Presenter Bio: Melissa Harris, Director of Service Development, Fio Partners
Melissa helps organizations build the clarity needed to create lasting community impact. Through strategic facilitation, training, and organizational development, she designs experiences that help people learn together, work across boundaries, and turn shared purpose into collective action.
At Fio Partners, Melissa develops the firm's frameworks, products, and training programs, and leads client engagements focused on shared learning and strategy development. She brings her experience developing nonprofit brands, engagement programs, and communications to her work at Fio Partners. She has a B.A. in English and Philosophy from Providence College and an M.S. in Nonprofit Management and Philanthropy from Bay Path University.
