StrangeBrew 14: Hum-Brewed
The rumors are true. StrangeBrew is back, and this year, we're doing it differently.
For StrangeBrew 14, we're turning the spotlight on the roots of craft beer: the homebrewers. The ones brewing in backrooms and garages everywhere. The ones who experiment, fail, iterate, and occasionally create something truly strange and spectacular. In fact, many of our local breweries have drawn on this homegrown brain trust for years to man their operations. This is where master brewers are born.
So what exactly is a "strange brew"? It's whatever happens when a homebrewer ignores convention and follows curiosity. Think ingredients like chamomile, lavender, elderberry, pineapple, tequila barrels, or whatever else was lying around the garage that week. Some are brilliant. Some are bizarre. All are worth tasting.
The Humboldt Homebrewers club is bringing nearly 40 different brews (maybe more!) to the Eureka Theater. Beers, ciders, seltzers, mead, kombucha. All of it made by local hands, fueled by curiosity and obsession.
All proceeds go toward the ongoing restoration of the Eureka Theater.
Here's what's waiting for you:
- Unlimited tasting from nearly 40+ homebrewed creations (until the beer runs out)
- StrangeBrew branded stainless taster cup included with your ticket
- Radio Clash DJs kicking off the party with the eclectic mixes they're known for
- The Strange Brew movie playing during the later half of the event. Tasting continues. The party vibe doesn't stop.
- People's Choice Award. You vote for your favorite.
- DAS BOOT awarded to the brewer's favorite
- Swag booth selling remaining tasters, pint glasses, and merch from StrangeBrews past. Scratch that nostalgia itch for your beer collection and home bar.
- Concessions available for purchase
- Designated drivers FREE
We know everyone is hurting financially right now. So we're making this affordable. StrangeBrew 14 is about community, creativity, and keeping the strange alive, not emptying your wallet.
