Storytelling Series presented by Dear Diary Overthinking Everything
This is a live storytelling event where people take to the stage to share personal stories. Each night is centered around a different theme and brings together different voices and experiences. Some will be funny, some inspiring, and some are going to take you somewhere you never expected.
This is an event space to get up and be lovingly and loudly yourself. Dear Diary Overthinking Everything is rooted in the idea that your story should resemble YOU. Bring your perspective, your experiences, your personality, and your humor.
How it works:
- RSVP for the event through Eventbrite
- Interested in sharing a story? Story Submission Form. Complete the short storyteller form via the link above. You will be contacted shortly following your story submission with more information. Please make sure to read over the storytelling general guidelines prior to submission.
- Stories for the October gathering will center around the theme: "The Other Side": stories of remembrance and what lies beyond.
- You do NOT have to share a story to attend. Coming to listen and connect is part of the experience.
What to expect:
- Arrive a little early to check in, order a drink, and find a seat.
- We'll begin with a short welcome from your host before moving into the evening's storytellers.
- Each storyteller will have >10 minutes to share a personal story centered around the night's theme.
- After the stories, there will be time to hang out before closing out storytelling around 4PM.
- Stay to connect, learn more about the cafe space, and organizations supporting the event.
Where did Dear Diary Overthinking Everything come from?
Dear Diary Overthinking Everything started as a podcast exploring the things we overthink and carry quietly. The storytelling series took those thoughts from the headphones and into a room, where people can share and connect. Dear Diary Overthinking Everything is Latina-founded and rooted in creating space for people to share their stories, identities, and be loudly themselves.
Each event brings a new theme, a new lineup of storytellers, and another chance to get something out of your head (or out of your pages) and into the room.
