Inside her head, thoughts race, music plays and feelings flash as brightly as lights on a dance floor.
Sometimes it is exciting. Sometimes it can all become a little too loud. Inspired by author Kate Watkin's daughter, My Brain Is Like a Disco explores what ADHD can feel like from the inside, including racing thoughts, daydreaming, big emotions, sensory overwhelm and the effort of masking.
With lively illustrations by Lottie Begg and warm, reassuring language, it gives children a way to recognise and talk about experiences that are often difficult to explain. Created particularly for children whose ADHD may be less visible, My Brain Is Like a Disco celebrates busy, brilliant minds while reminding young readers that they are understood, supported and never alone.
