Having just finished our conversations about exile, we’re ready to begin a new major theme in the biblical story: covenant.Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly binds himself to people through promises—to Noah, Abraham, Israel, David, and ultimately the whole world through Jesus. These covenants aren’t merely contracts or lists of religious obligations. They reveal who God is, what God intends for creation, and the kind of people God is forming to participate in that work.
In our first conversation, we’ll explore what covenant means, why it becomes one of the Bible’s central organizing ideas, and how each covenant carries the story forward toward new creation. We’ll also ask what it means for us to understand our own relationship with God—and with one another—as a covenant relationship.
We'd love to have you join us as we begin this next part of the story, on Weds Sept 16th, at 7pm!
