About this Event
One of our most popular tours returns! Experience the Fort Gratiot Light Station at a time when hundreds of sailors looked to the light in desperation. The largest storm recorded in Great Lakes history ocurred in November 1913 -- centered around lower Lake Huron. Hear stories of survival, loss, disaster, and how our Lighthouse pulled through this incredible tempest.
From the origins of the so called "White Hurricane" to the aftermath, how did this storm forever change shipping on the Great Lakes? What ships were lost? How did anyone survive?
Just as the sailors went out in any condition, this walking tour will head out in whatever November has to throw at us! Be sure to dress accordingly.
