4:30pm - Open House with Live Music, Food, Drinks and Activities

Enjoy food trucks and a wine & beer garden — hosted by our partners at Santa Monica Mountains Fund — while checking out our many activities and partner booths.

• Observe fossils with the Natural History Museum and learn the stories told through rocks
• Explore the trees in the park with Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains
• Make art with Santa Monica Mountain Nature Journal Club

Listen to stories from tribal members, scientists, historians and others about the people and living things of Malibu Creek State Park

8:00pm - Star Party

Join the Los Angeles Astronomical Society for a Star Party, looking at the stars that connect our past, present and future. And we'll eat cake — it is an anniversary after all!

Parking Instructions:

• Driving In? Carpool with friends and family to Malibu Creek State Park! Drive to 1925 Las Virgenes Rd, Calabasas CA 91302. Standard parking fees apply for this event. Event parking is throughout the park with up to half mile walk to the event. Arrive early for the best parking spots. Parking is limited!
• Feeling like saving $? Take the free shuttle from Juan Bautista de Anza Park to Malibu Creek State Park, courtesy of the City of Calabasas! This is also available if there is no longer parking available in Malibu Creek State Park.
• Feeling adventurous? What to exercise before the event? Hike to the event by parking at Tapia Day Use Park and take the Tapia Spur Trail to the event. 3 miles round trip - bring a flashlight for a night hike back! Or hike from Juan Bautista de Anza Park to Malibu Creek State Park by taking the Talepop trail to the Grasslands trail - about 3 miles total - and take the free shuttle back!

What to Bring:

1. Reusable water bottle
2. Flashlight (preferable with a red-light to help everyones eyes adjust to the star-gazing)
3. Hungry stomach - we will have food trucks and wine / beer garden benefiting the Santa Monica Mountains Foundation (SAMO Fund)!
