Kalmplex’s exhibition, , explores identity, community, and the power of representation through bold, expressive portraits. This engaging walkthrough, led by culture leader Karen Carter, offers a unique opportunity to experience the work through conversation, gaining deeper insight into the themes, stories, and cultural influences behind the artworks.
Karen Carter is currently the Director for Museum and Heritage Services at the City of Toronto. This follows over 25 years of leadership in a wide range of arts, culture and heritage settings including roles as Executive Director of Heritage Toronto; founding Executive Director of Myseum of Toronto (now Museum of Toronto); co-founder of Black Artists' Network and Dialogue (BAND); and, founder of C-Art, a Caribbean Art Experience that connects artists and cultural workers from the Caribbean region to the international art world.
