Will you act to Stop the Chop? Your presence counts.South Australians are joining forces in a united, peaceful protest against the destruction of our East Park Lands for the MotoGP street circuit. From 1 December, demolition is expected to begin. Hundreds of mature trees and open space will be obliterated.
Once chainsaws start and bitumen is laid, there is no going back.
Community organisations, environmental advocates and concerned South Australians are joining forces in a united, peaceful protest against this destruction.
This is about more than trees. It's about protecting public land, responsible spending of taxpayer money, government transparency and accountability, and the right of South Australians to have a meaningful say in decisions affecting our shared spaces.
The mobilisation will provide a sustained, peaceful community presence from 1 December onwards. Organisers do not encourage or facilitate unlawful activity; however, we recognise that other individuals and groups, acting independently, may choose to undertake their own activities on the day.
Pick your days, pick your times. Note that dates may change so stay flexible if you can. Once you register, we will enter your email and mobile into a confidential distribution list and update you on the time and place to gather. And if things change at short notice, you will be the first to know!
Together we stand. Together we hold the line.
