🩸 Would you know what to do if someone was bleeding badly? When a serious injury happens, every minute matters. A person can bleed to death within minutes, and bystanders are often the first people on the scene — before emergency responders arrive.
That’s why learning basic bleeding-control skills can save a life.
Penn State Health is offering a free Stop the Bleed course to teach participants three lifesaving skills:
✅ How to hold pressure effectively
✅ How to pack a wound
✅ How to apply a tourniquet
The Stop the Bleed program, led by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma, brings bleeding-control education to communities across the country. The skills are similar to CPR — you hope you never need them, but having the training could make all the difference when an emergency happens.
The class is free and lasts approximately 90 minutes. Registration is required.
