Stop Motion Animation Workshop - Children and Parents session

After a brief introduction, we'll be using your own phones with a stop motion app to tell your own unique stories. You will be provided with a range of different materials so you can let your childs imagination run free to explore their ideas.

The class size will be small, so I'll be able to offer guidance every step of the way.

Play and curiosity is at the heart of my practice and you are encouraged to keep this in mind and you’ll be amazed by what you can create.

This workshop is aimed at children and their responsible adult, I will be running another workshop for participants 14+ if you are interested.

• To make your own animations during the session you will need to bring a smart phone with the stop motion app installed. Free to download for both iPhone and Android. Please note that if you bring a device like an ipad, you will also need to bring your own tripod to hold it.

• Please ensure the app Stop Motion Studio (the free version is perfectly suitable) is downloaded and ready to use before you arrive, as I can't be sure of a strong WIFI connection -

My name is Amanda Stockley and my studio is based at Blue House Yard, where I work on stop motion animations. I’ve been working in the creative industry predominantly as a filmmaker and photographer for over 10 years. More recently I started to explore animation as a way to tell stories and became captivated by the creative opportunities it provides. During my workshop I want to share my passion for animation.
