About this Event
People Over Politics: Stop Data Centers (Wards 3 & 7)
Our voices, our needs, and our hopes for the future should help shape the decisions that affect our neighborhoods.
Join Mississippi for a Just World (MSJW) on Saturday, November 14, for a community training for Wards 3 & 7. Together, we’ll break down data center regulations, explore the protections residents want to see, and work on turning community priorities into proposed laws.
Help write the rules that shape our future.
This is an opportunity to take an active role in developing community recommendations for data center regulations. Together, we’ll tackle questions such as:
- What should responsible data center development look like in Jackson?
- How should our water, air, and energy resources be protected?
- What should companies be required to do before building in our communities?
- How can residents have a meaningful voice in those decisions?
You’ll help write the answers. The proposals developed through this process will be shared with Jackson City Council members to inform their decisions about data center regulations. Make sure your voice is part of that conversation.
No experience required—your perspective matters.
You don’t need a background in law or politics to participate. Your experience living in this city matters. Bring your questions, concerns, and ideas as we work together to help shape the rules that will guide Jackson’s future.
