Join us, in Wang Wang's memory, on the four months anniversary of her murder, as we ask the U.S. Attorney's office to prosecute social media platforms for publishing videos of animal cruelty and torture. 47 US Code Sec. 230 protects social media companies from civil liability -- but there is a specific exception in the statute that reads: "Nothing in this section shall be construed to impair the enforcement of... any [] Federal criminal statute." There is a federal animal cruelty statute called the "PACT ACT", which we believe applies with respect to animal cruelty videos.
This will be a peaceful protest, a peaceful request, to the DOJ, to stop any individual or social media platform from publishing, profitting from, or getting "likes" for horrific animal cruelty videos, by way of prosecution. Please bring home made signs if you can; we will have others to hand out.
Animal cruelty videos must be taken just as seriously as child p*rn or child abuse videos. There is no place in a civilized society for such horrific torturous videos, no matter who the victim is!
