Create something beautiful and useful for the fall season! In this hands-on stoneware handbuilding workshop, you’ll make your own small casserole dish, perfect for baking and serving all your favorite comfort foods. Our instructor will guide you step by step through the process, making this class approachable even if you’re new to clay. You’ll have lots of textures, stamps, and tools to choose from, plus plenty of options for adding your own embellishments and details. Make it simple and classic or add your own personality to create a piece that is truly yours.
We’ll be using durable stoneware clay, so this isn’t just a decorative piece. Once it has been glazed and fired, your finished casserole dish will be food-safe and durable enough to use in the oven.
You’ll have two options for finishing your piece. You can choose your glaze colors during the workshop and we’ll glaze and fire it for you, so you won’t need to make another trip to the studio. Or, if you’d like to be more hands-on with the finishing process, you can return after your piece has been bisque fired and glaze it yourself.
A $10 instructional fee reserves your spot. The finished casserole dish is $50 and will be paid for at the workshop. Your project price includes the clay, glazing, and firing.
No previous clay experience is required. Come enjoy a cozy fall afternoon of creating something you’ll actually use for years to come!
We anticipate this workshop will take 90 min to 2 hours.
This workshop is designed for age 16 and over, all experience levels welcome. Teens age 13-16 may also purchase a seat if attending with a paid adult.
