The musical project that we call Stoat was formed in Wexford in the late 80s, and has been running ever since. We all moved out of Wexford in our teens, so the last time we played in the Arts Centre was at an afterparty for a Welsh girls dance troupe in 1988. One of them asked me if I liked The Velvets, and I wasn't cool enough to know what she was talking about. The last time we played in Wexford was in the Halfway House in Ballycogley in 1994. Enthusiastic audience-members whose names we have forgotten but who we gave a lift to back into town afterwards - if you're reading this then come and see us! We make playful alt pop/indie rock, trying to cope with the seriousness of reality in a lighthearted way.
