October 3rd is Stevie Ray Vaughan’s 72nd birthday. The Hungry Tiger in Manchester will be serving host to a very special SRV Tribute Band show featuring the extremely talented Josh Scussell on guitar and vocals, bringing the legendary guitar hero’s music and unparalleled guitar playing back to life for one night only! If you were fortunate enough to witness the magic of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble live prior to his death in August of 1990, or if you never got a chance to, Saturday evening, October 3rd, 2026 will recreate what that experience must have been like back in the ‘80’s, LIVE & LOCAL to the stage of the world famous Hungry Tiger in Manchester, CT!
An SRV tribute show would not be complete without the proper musical equipment that Stevie used to get that unforgettable tone and Josh take a no-prisoners approach to recreating Stevie’s tone, using the same early ‘60’s spec Fender Stratocaster’s with heavy strings tuned low, a vintage Fender Super Reverb and a hand-built reproduction of the fabled Dumble Steel String Singer amplifier, a mainstay in Stevie’s guitar rig. Also being used will be a variety of guitar effect pedals that Stevie loved, from multiple Tube Screamer models to a vintage Vox voiced Wah-Wah, an Octavia octave up pedal, a Uni-Vibe, Fuzz Face, and a Leslie rotating speaker cabinet simulation all combined just as Stevie did to get a tone that was unlike no other.
