Step away from the noise of the city and head underground for a quietly special evening of live piano in Newcastle’s historic Victoria Tunnel.Pianist and composer Steve returns to this remarkable space for an intimate solo concert, performing gentle, modern classical piano music in near-darkness beneath the streets. His music is calm, reflective and unhurried - the kind that invites you to slow down and really listen.
The Tunnel’s natural acoustics and atmosphere add something you simply don’t get in a traditional concert hall. Notes linger, silences matter, and the setting becomes part of the performance. On the shortest day of the year, it’s a chance to pause, reflect, and experience music in a way that feels immersive and personal.
Steve has performed in the Victoria Tunnel many times, with each concert offering a slightly different experience shaped by the space, the moment and the audience. Capacity is very limited, and these shows regularly sell out.
If you’re looking for something a bit different - calm, thoughtful, and genuinely memorable - this is one not to miss.
