For more than two decades, the United Way of Central Massachusetts Women’s Initiative has invested in a simple but powerful idea: girls thrive when they have access to supportive spaces, trusted relationships, and opportunities to discover what’s possible for their futures.Stepping Up for Girls brings our community together to celebrate that work and the people who make it possible. Join us for an evening of connection and impact as we recognize our nonprofit partners serving girls across Central Massachusetts, celebrate women making a difference in our community, and look ahead to what we can accomplish together.
This year, we are proud to honor:
Jillian Keans, Co-Founder and Co-Executive Director of Her Way Home Worcester, recipient of the Lois B. Green Leadership Award
Gifty Kessie, Supplier Quality Engineer at Boston Scientific and Founder of AfroFit Fusion, recipient of the Meridith D. Wesby Young Leader Award
We’ll also celebrate a milestone close to the heart of our work: 20 years of Dollar Scholar, our signature financial literacy and mentorship program for middle school girls.
Whether you’re already connected to the Women’s Initiative or are discovering our work for the first time, we invite you to step up with us. Your participation helps us continue investing in the local programs, partnerships, and opportunities that give girls the support they need today while opening doors for what’s possible tomorrow.
