About this Event
Welcome to Step Up, Speak Up, Shape the Future
Thank you for your interest in joining South Yorkshire's Young Men's Summit, hosted by the Deputy Mayor and Rotherham United Community Trust as part of the national 16 Days of Action Against Gender-Based Violence.
This unique event brings together professionals from across youth services, education, policing, criminal justice, local authorities, the voluntary and community sector, health, mentoring organisations and wider partner agencies who share a commitment to improving outcomes for young men and boys.
Together, we will explore the challenges and opportunities facing young men today, including the influence of online spaces, social media, peer pressure, identity, belonging, mental wellbeing and healthy relationships. Most importantly, we will create space to listen, learn and work alongside young men to shape solutions that strengthen communities and help prevent violence against women and girls.
Whether you work directly with young people, influence policy, commission services, deliver education, provide mentoring or support families and communities, your voice, experience and contribution matter.
Places are limited and we expect demand to be high. We therefore encourage organisations to nominate representatives who can help share learning and drive change within their networks following the summit.
We are also keen to involve young men aged 11-17 years of age in this important conversation – pre-event conversations have taken place with the young men to inform the themes and shaping of this event. Organisations interested in bringing young men with their youth leaders should note that a separate booking process will be available for interested organisations. Please contact: [email protected]
Join us as we come together to listen, learn and take action, ensuring that young men are not only part of the conversation but are helping to shape the future.
