WO Guides Max Werkman and Spencer Behler will teach a "Beyond the Basics" of steelhead fishing that will start with a seminar at the shop followed by on the water instruction.
8:00 - 10:00ish: For the shop portion of the seminar, please bring your own rod, reel, line, leader/leaders material, flies, etc and they will show you the proper rigging for indicator fishing. Not only will they show you the rigging they use and get you dialed in, but they will also go over steelhead migration patterns, reading water, and how to choose fishing locations.
11:00 - 12:30ish: After the seminar, you'll head to Pickett Park, on the Rouge, Rockford, MIchigan. Please bring your waders for this portion of the class. Max and Spencer will demonstrate how to read water, proper drifting technique under an indicator, as well as individual instruction and answer any questions you may have. The final portion of the on the water seminar, Max will go over an introduction to spey fishing, casting and proper swing technique
