Steamoji Pickering VEX IQ Robotics Club Tryouts

Is your child passionate about building, coding, and problem-solving? Step into the exciting world of competitive robotics with the Steamoji Vex IQ Robotics Club!

Our two-day tryout gives young innovators (ages 9+) a hands-on taste of real engineering. Kids will team up with peers to design, build, and program functional Vex IQ robots while tackling fun, timed challenges designed to unlock their critical thinking and creativity.

What Your Child Will Experience

• Hands-On Building & Coding: Build mechanical structures with Vex IQ kits and write code to program autonomous robot movements.
• Teamwork & Leadership: Work alongside peers to solve real-time engineering puzzles and build strong communication skills.
• Resilience & Growth: Learn to test, tweak, and bounce back from design hiccups in a supportive, high-energy environment.
• Path to Competition: Selected team members join our club for ongoing mentorship, advanced STEAM skill-building, and regional competition prep.

Tryout Windows & Logistics

• Fee: $50 total per student (covers both days in your chosen window)
• Location: Steamoji Pickering — 780 Kingston Rd, Pickering
• ⚠️ Strictly Limited: Only 6 spots available per window (first-come, first-served)!

Attendance on BOTH days of your chosen window is required:

• Window 1: Sun, Sep 13 (2:30 PM–4:30 PM) & Mon, Sep 14 (5:00 PM–7:00 PM)
• Window 2: Sun, Sep 20 (2:30 PM–4:30 PM) & Mon, Sep 21 (5:00 PM–7:00 PM)
• Window 3: Sun, Sep 27 (2:30 PM–4:30 PM) & Mon, Sep 28 (5:00 PM–7:00 PM)
