Wake Self left a mark on a lot of us.Through his music, his words, his presence, and the way he carried himself, Wake inspired people far beyond the stage. For a lot of us, his music became part of our own story. This day is about getting together, celebrating that impact, and keeping that energy moving.
On November 14th, the Martinez family, Warehouse 505, and members of the hip-hop community are coming together for STAY WAKE, a celebration of Wake Self, his life, his art, and the people he inspired.
One of the things we’re especially excited about: Eric Martinez and the Martinez family will be sharing newly prepared live footage of Wake that they’ve been working on. We’ll be screening it during the event alongside Wake’s music and videos, giving everyone a chance to see and hear him in a way that hasn’t been part of a public gathering like this before.
The rest of the day is going to feel like what it should feel like — a hip-hop jam.

This is day to come together, see some people you haven’t seen in a while, meet some new ones, watch artists do their thing, share stories, and celebrate somebody who touched a lot of lives.
Bring the homies. Bring the family. Bring a shirt. Bring your black book. Bring some bars if you’ve got ’em.
Admission is by donation, so give what you can. It all goes to non-profits in Wakes memory.
We’ll be going from 11:00 AM to 5:05 PM, with breaking and MC showcases happening throughout the afternoon. The final hour will bring everybody back together for DJs, cyphers, the art raffle, and closing words before we end the day together at 5:05 PM, sunset.
