About Kensington & Chelsea Over 50s Forum
The Kensington and Chelsea Over 50s Forum supports older adults aged 50+ across Kensington and Chelsea. We help those approaching later life who may face digital exclusion, and barriers to accessing local services.
We provide information and advice through newsletters and guidance on health, housing, and care; run digital skills projects like "Bridging the Digital Divide" to teach essential online tools; deliver events and talks on health, wellbeing, and community issues; and offer volunteer-led support to build confidence and connections. We also advocate for older people’s voices, influencing local services and policy.
Our work matters because over 23,000 local residents aged 65+ are at risk of loneliness and health inequality. As a Queen’s Award-winning charity, we help thousands annually to stay connected, improve wellbeing, and live independently, making later life richer, more active, and more informed.
Our activities
The Kensington and Chelsea Over 50s Forum meets its objectives by delivering a wide range of services and activities that address the needs of older adults in our community:
- Information & Advice: We produce regular newsletters, guides, and resources to keep older residents informed about local services, health, housing, benefits, and community opportunities.
- Digital Inclusion Projects: We run initiatives such as "Bridging the Digital Divide" to equip older people with essential digital skills, enabling access to healthcare, social contact, and online services.
- Events & Educational Talks: We host health seminars, wellbeing workshops, and social activities, creating opportunities for learning, connection, and participation.
- Advocacy & Representation: We engage with local authorities, NHS bodies, and service providers to ensure older people's voices influence decision-making.
- Volunteer Engagement: We recruit and train volunteers to provide peer support, share expertise, and deliver community-led solutions.
Through these efforts, we reduce isolation, promote independence, and improve the quality of life for older residents, ensuring they remain active, informed, and connected.
