The State of the Coast (SOC) conference is a significant annual event held at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. This conference stands as the largest statewide gathering focused on Louisiana's coastal issues, encompassing a wide array of disciplines. It serves as a vital platform for exchanging timely and relevant information regarding the dynamic conditions affecting the coastal communities, environment, and economy of Louisiana. Organized by the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana (CRCL), in collaboration with key partners such as the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority of Louisiana and the Water Institute, the SOC conference addresses the pressing challenges faced by the region, particularly the ongoing loss of land to the Gulf. The SOC conference not only brings together experts and stakeholders to discuss these crucial topics but also facilitates networking opportunities and engaging sessions that highlight the latest developments in coastal restoration and protection. Attendees can look forward to powerful plenary speakers, vibrant discussions, and an exhibit hall featuring various organizations dedicated to these efforts. The 2025 conference promises to be a remarkable experience, showcasing the collective efforts and insights from Louisiana's largest coastal gathering, all aimed at fostering a better understanding and actionable solutions for the state's coastline.
