About this Event
On Monday 28th September, I am hosting a powerful panel discussion with the APPG on Miscarriages of Justice bringing together campaigners, survivors and families who have spent decades fighting for truth and justice in the face of state cover-ups and institutional wrongdoing.
We will be hearing from representatives connected to:
- Hillsborough Law Now
- Cammell Laird 37
- Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign
- Birmingham 4
- Chinese Seafarers Campaign
- Nuclear Test Veterans
- Police Spies Out of Lives
Each of the speakers joining us has experienced the devastating impact of misinformation, cover-ups and the denial of accountability by public authorities.
Their stories expose a common thread: when institutions fail to tell the truth, ordinary people and communities are left to bear the consequences. This event will explore why a statutory duty of candour is essential to ensuring honesty, transparency and accountability across public bodies, and how it can help prevent future injustices.
