About this Event
To celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Month, uOttawa Kanata North and the uOttawa Startup Law Clinic, part of the Common Law Section at the Faculty of Law, invite startups, entrepreneurs and small or medium-sized enterprises to a town hall. It will examine legal challenges businesses face when developing innovations and bringing them to market.
Student caseworkers from the Startup Law Clinic will lead presentations on two key topics:
- Corporate governance
Explore the roles and responsibilities of boards of directors, shareholders, employees and other stakeholders, and how they each help build and manage successful businesses.
- Intellectual property and artificial intelligence
Generative AI is raising new questions about patents, copyright, authorship and inventorship. This session will examine these emerging legal issues, including the use of copyrighted materials to train AI systems.
The town hall will end with a networking opportunity. Connect with Startup Law Clinic caseworkers, entrepreneurs and members of the Kanata North business and technology community.
