About this Event
Stars Over Sheriff Hutton, York
Want to know more about keeping our skies dark for wildlife as well as people? Want to know about what you can see in the sky on a clear night? Then we have the perfect event for you.
The Howardian Hills National Landscape is staging one of its popular dark sky roadshows at Sheriff Hutton Bridge Cricket Clubhouse – Castle Ground (access and parking via Sheriff Hutton Village Hall Car Park) in conjunction with the Sheriff Hutton Dark Sky Project and Nature Groups.
As well as demonstrating the finer points of dark sky lighting there will be a crash course in understanding the Universe and, if clear, telescopes will be used to reveal wonders like the Rings of Saturn!
This is a free community event to residents and people living nearby. Please book your place well in advance as capacity is limited. You will need a free ticket to attend. Hot drinks and light refreshments will be available during the evening. Event suitable for adults and children over six years old.
Free parking is available at the Sheriff Hutton Village Hall Car Park YO60 6RA. You will be directed from there to the cricket clubhouse on foot.
