Men's Group at Stark County Vet Center is a supportive, confidential group counseling setting where male Veterans come together to share experiences, discuss challenges, and connect with other Veterans who may have faced similar situations during and after military service. These groups are facilitated by a trained Vet Center counselor and provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment for Veterans to talk openly.
Topics may include:
Mental health and emotional well-being: Managing stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma-related challenges.
Military-to-civilian transition: Adjusting to life after military service.
Relationships and family: Strengthening communication with spouses, partners, children, and friends.
Anger and stress management: Developing healthy coping strategies.
Peer support and connection: Building friendships and reducing isolation.
Personal growth: Exploring identity, purpose, resilience, and life goals.
What happens during a group session?
Veterans are encouraged to participate at their own comfort level. You do not have to share experiences before they feel ready.
Vet Center counseling is free for eligible Veterans and service members, and you do not need to be enrolled in VA health care. Vet Center counseling records are generally kept separate from VA medical records, with limited exceptions to confidentiality.
