In early August 2026, a local dog sitter in Homosassa, Florida, was arrested on two felony counts of animal cruelty after two dogs from the same family, Remington and Odin, died while in her care. According to news reports, investigators also found eight other boarded dogs living in hazardous conditions. The reported circumstances surrounding the boys' deaths have left our community heartbroken and raised serious questions about their care and the events leading up to this tragedy.
Their family entrusted someone to care for their beloved dogs, expecting them to return home safely. Instead, they were left facing a devastating loss that can never be undone.
On November 10, we will gather peacefully outside the Inverness Courthouse to show our love and support for the family of Remington and Odin, two beloved dogs whose lives were tragically cut short.
I never had the privilege of meeting these two precious boys, but their story has touched so many hearts throughout our community. Their family is facing a loss that no pet parent should ever have to endure, and we want them to know that they are not alone.
We are showing up for Remington and Odin. We are showing up for their family. And we are showing up because their lives mattered.
๐Ÿ“ WHERE: Inverness Courthouse
110 N. Apopka Avenue
Inverness, FL 34450
๐Ÿ“… WHEN: Tuesday, November 10, 2026
โฐ TIME: 9:00 AM
๐Ÿชง WHAT TO BRING:
- Signs or posters honoring Remington and Odin
- T-shirts or photos of the boys
- Your compassion, your support, and your voice
I will have a couple of extra posters available for anyone who would like one.
This will be a peaceful gathering. Please come with kindness, respect, and the understanding that we are there to support a grieving family and honor two innocent lives. We ask everyone to remain respectful toward all individuals present and to allow the legal process to proceed.
You don't have to have known Remington and Odin to care about what happened to them. You don't have to be a family member to stand beside a family who is hurting.
Sometimes, the most meaningful thing we can do is simply show up.
If their story has touched your heart, please join us. Bring a friend. Share this event. Help us show their family that this community cares.
They were loved. They mattered. They will not be forgotten.
