Here is a little background:
On September 18, 2026, Jerry became critically ill. Initially, his wife Bekke had called an ambulance for him because his flu-like symptoms were getting worse. Jerry had a blockage in his ureter (the path from the kidney to the bladder). The blockage caused Jerry to go into septic shock, ultimately causing multiple
organ failure.
After 12 long days in ICU (nine of those days being intubated and on life supporting machines) he was finally moved to the cardiac floor. On October 8th, Bekke spoke to the doctors, and they told her while his journey isn’t nearly over, Jerry is no longer “critical”. Eventually, when Jerry is discharged, he will be transferred to a long-term acute care hospital where they can attend to all his medical needs as well as therapies and dialysis as needed.
Jerry turns his love of motorcycles into service. He helps plan charity rides & events that raise money for Make-A-Wish Minnesota and Autism Society of Minnesota. As a certified road guard, he has volunteered on numerous rides to keep riders safe. Though Jerry never served in the armed forces, his biggest passion is honoring veterans. As Northeast Metro Road Captain for the Minnesota Patriot Guard, he has taken part in dignified transfers of WWII veteran’s remains and stood in countless flag lines at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Jerry would always stand with honor, dignity, and respect until the last family
member goes home.
Jerry humbly says it is a great honor to stand for those who stood for us. Now it is our turn to stand with Jerry. Donations are desperately needed to help cover medical bills and expenses, as well as on-going care that could continue for many months. Every donation, contribution, and active support makes a
difference.
