Stand-Up Comedy Course

Dive into stand-up comedy and be a better storyteller on stage, at work, and socially!

This course is extremely practical and will give you a lot of joke-writing tools to use straight away.

You will learn the science behind jokewriting, dive into your personal style of humour, learn a large number of joke structures and writing techniques, and begin to put together your own set.

Stand-up comedy can help you to grow your stage presence, confidence, and ability to wow others in a range of settings.

As an added bonus, course participants can attend the next upcoming stand-up comedy show in Newtown - the Stand-Up Comedy Championships.

➤ Joke-writing: We will teach you the structure of a joke and how you can maximise laughs.

➤ Storytelling: Learn how jokes can be used in telling stories to help make them pop and resonate with audiences.

➤ Stage presence: Jokes can help you to improve your presence when on stage and in social situations.

➤ Scriptwriting: Explore techniques to improve your writing ability and creativity.

➤ Public speaking: Stand-up can help you to gain new public speaking skills that will improve your timing, delivery and confidence when on stage and speaking with others.

➤ This course is either held as a 1-day or 2-day course. When it is a 1-day course, it is held for 5.5 hours on a weekend from the morning. When it is a 2-day course, it is held for 2.5 hours over two consecutive weeks. Ie the day and time listed, and the exact same day and time 7 days later.
