About this Event
Join us at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory for a special evening with David Goldring, author of Stand-Up and Lead: Turning Comedy into Leadership and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Overseas Military Sales Corporation.
For decades, Goldring has occupied two seemingly different worlds: leading a global business and performing stand-up comedy. In his new book, he brings those experiences together, exploring how the skills that allow comedians to connect with a room—active listening, adaptability, authenticity, empathy, and even vulnerability—can make us more effective leaders and communicators.
Goldring will share stories and insights from the book before sitting down with a CSHL researcher for a conversation about leadership, communication, connection, and what happens when we learn to truly read the room.
The evening will conclude with an audience Q&A, book signing, and reception. Copies of Stand-Up and Lead will be available for purchase.
